This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Develop, schedule, and publish engaging content across ASME’s social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
• Craft compelling copy that conveys ASME’s mission in an accessible and engaging manner.
• Produce on-brand multimedia content, such as videos and graphics.
• Collaborate with video and content teams to create multimedia content.
• Monitor posts and interactions, respond to comments and messages, and promote positive engagement.
• Identify and connect with students, partners, and members of the engineering community.
• Assist in the planning and execution of social media campaigns that support events, publications, advocacy, and student engagement.
• Provide support for live event coverage, including conferences, webinars, and competitions.
• Gain practical experience assisting the Strategic Communications department with audience engagement and day-to-day functions.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in engineering, communications, marketing, journalism, media, or a related field.
• Familiarity with social media, digital content, and online culture.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills along with a professional demeanor.
• Analytical skills with a solution-oriented and streamlined approach.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Capable of working independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
• Knowledge of major social platforms and their best practices.
• Comfortable engaging with audiences in a professional and brand-safe way.
• Familiarity with social media or design tools such as Canva, Sprout, or similar is advantageous.
• A portfolio showcasing experience in creating engaging social media content is required.
• Availability for 25–27 hours per work week.
• Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States in accordance with equal employment laws.
• Remote work arrangement.
• Six-month temporary assignment.
