Social Media & Community Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Spearhead Barebells Canada's social-first strategy across various social media platforms.

• Take charge of content creation and daily social media execution, especially on Instagram and TikTok.

• Generate content, including on-camera appearances as required.

• Incorporate consumer insights and perspectives into the marketing team.

• Analyze platform behavior, identify emerging trends, and recognize cultural moments.

• Develop timely, authentic, and platform-specific content.

• Oversee community engagement across comments, direct messages, mentions, tags, and user-generated content.

• Transform community interactions into creative discussions and storytelling opportunities.

• Assess sentiment, feedback, risks, and emerging trends.

• Identify brand ambassadors, creators, and advocates.

• Mobilize the community for product launches, events, and partnerships.

• Assist in creator collaborations and product seeding initiatives.

• Collaborate with local and global teams and report to the Canada Marketing Coordinator.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–2+ years of relevant experience in social media, content creation, community management, or a similar marketing position.

• Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, including platform trends, formats, and best practices.

• Proven experience in creating and producing social media content.

• A keen visual eye and comfort in front of the camera when necessary.

• Exceptional communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and collaborate effectively across teams.

• Previous experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG), food and beverage, lifestyle, or wellness brands is a plus.

• Familiarity with working alongside influencers or content creators is advantageous.

• Bilingual in English and French is preferred but not mandatory.
