Social Media Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the management and execution of innovative social media strategies across various platforms.

• Create informative videos and visually appealing graphics related to weather topics.

• Stay updated on the latest social media trends.

• Analyze social media metrics and help develop engaging campaigns.

• Source user-generated content and secure permission for usage from content owners.

• Propose daily content ideas focused on weather-related themes.

• Coordinate multiple sources, feeds, and team members contributing to social media channels.

• Monitor social networks for testimonials, inquiries, comments, and user-generated content.

• Interact with users and collaborate with internal departments to address issues.

• Analyze data from AccuWeather and competitors using both internal and external social media analytics tools.

• Research changes in social networks through industry blogs, news articles, and online webinars.

• Generate trend reports on weather-related topics and culturally significant discussions.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently pursuing a 4-year Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing, or a related field that necessitates writing experience.

• Proven knowledge and experience in utilizing Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms.

• Basic skills in image editing.

• Ability to grasp fundamental scientific and meteorological concepts and communicate them effectively to the audience.

• Must be available to work evenings and weekends.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Capability to work independently, as part of a team, and under pressure.
