Snowflake Data Lake Support Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Deliver second-level support for the Snowflake Data Lake environment.

• Resolve issues that have been escalated by first-level support.

• Design, test, and enhance SQL queries, stored procedures, and PL/SQL scripts.

• Oversee and improve ETL/ELT workflows utilizing Matillion.

• Convert business requirements into technical designs and solutions.

• Utilize Jira for case management, issue tracking, and story pointing.

• Maintain and enhance current processes, as well as develop new processes to address gaps.

• Document processes, workflows, and troubleshooting guides in Confluence.

• Collaborate on data model design and optimize Snowflake performance.

• Facilitate data integration and ensure seamless data flow across systems.

• Provide operational support for Global Trade data, covering ingestion, transformation, and reporting.

• Monitor and uphold data quality and integrity.

• Adhere to best practices for data security, performance tuning, and disaster recovery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data analytics, or a similar technical role, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.

• Intermediate to strong proficiency in SQL, stored procedures, and PL/SQL.

• Practical experience with Matillion for ETL/ELT processes.

• Basic knowledge of Git and version control principles.

• Understanding of ETL/ELT principles with experience in designing and maintaining data pipelines.

• Capability to translate business and technical requirements into actionable technical designs.

• Familiarity with using Jira for task management, case tracking, and applying story pointing within Agile workflows.

• Experience in process documentation and knowledge management tools, preferably Confluence.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Capacity to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently.

• U.S. citizenship is required; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under the program/contract.

• Working knowledge of Python for scripting and automation is preferred.

• Familiarity with Global Trade data and supporting applications is preferred.

• Hands-on experience with Power BI is preferred.

• Experience with Snowflake features such as virtual warehouses, data sharing, and performance tuning is preferred.

• Understanding of data governance principles and best practices is preferred.
