This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
β’ Assess and make decisions on small business loan applications in a centralized setting for high-value and complex loans.
β’ Support colleagues and less seasoned team members throughout the loan decision-making process.
β’ Analyze financial statements based on the information provided in loan packages.
β’ Deliver loan decisions and/or credit recommendations informed by underwriting criteria, loan structure, collateral, interest rates, and fees.
β’ Conduct global cash flow and balance sheet assessments for small-business healthcare loans up to $2 million.
β’ Draft written evaluations of borrowers' financial statuses and future projections, highlighting risks and mitigation strategies.
β’ Partner with the sales team to create loan structures that align with customer needs and the organization's risk tolerance.
β’ Guide and mentor team members in monitoring the portfolio.
β’ Spot opportunities and suggest improvements for processes and software development.
β’ Provide mentorship to credit analysts in risk management expertise and understanding.
β’ Communicate loan decisions to loan originators effectively.
β’ Identify and evaluate essential due diligence items.
β’ Negotiate loan terms and conditions with originators.
β’ Carry out various duties as assigned.
β’ A college degree in accounting, finance, or economics is highly preferred.
β’ A minimum of two years of experience in underwriting, portfolio monitoring, or a related business loan analysis role.
β’ Knowledge of SBA guidelines is preferred.
β’ Basic understanding of commercial lending and credit standards, policies, procedures, and products.
β’ Proficient in Microsoft Access, Word, and Excel.
β’ Familiarity with the Bank's internal applications is advantageous.
β’ Strong attention to detail.
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
β’ Strong organizational skills.
