This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +10 more states.
β’ Oversee a wide range of sleep disorders and associated medical conditions that may lead to or exacerbate sleep issues.
β’ Provide direct patient care, which includes real-time clinic consultations and asynchronous services such as interpreting sleep studies, conducting electronic consultations, and monitoring therapeutic progress remotely.
β’ Conduct initial patient appointments within 60 minutes and follow-up appointments within 30 minutes.
β’ Administer required setting-specific suicide screenings for new patients.
β’ Facilitate sleepiness and insomnia assessments when applicable.
β’ Assess patients and carry out physical examinations as necessary.
β’ Request necessary tests and ensure their completion.
β’ Keep track of test status and completion, analyze results, and discuss treatment plans with patients.
β’ Record all patient interactions in the electronic health record and independently compose notes.
β’ Ensure EHR documentation is completed within the mandated timeframe set by the VA facility, generally within 24 hours.
β’ Collaborate with Veteran providers regarding sleep testing, follow-up care, and management strategies.
β’ Operate effectively within a multidisciplinary and interprofessional sleep care team.
β’ Document and relay results of ordered tests to patients and providers within 14 days of their availability or sooner if clinically necessary.
β’ Monitor the completion of ordered tests and address inquiries from schedulers as well as requests for modifications to orders.
β’ Maintain board certification, fulfill CME obligations, and practice within the boundaries of granted privileges.
β’ Work Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, with occasional weekend shifts; appointment scheduling may vary according to the needs of the Greater Los Angeles VA Healthcare System.
β’ Eligibility to work in the U.S. permanently, without the need for sponsorship.
β’ Graduate from an accredited medical school holding an MD or DO degree.
β’ Possess a current, full, and unrestricted medical or surgical practice license in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
β’ Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
β’ Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
β’ Board Certified or Board Eligible in Sleep Medicine by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
β’ Preferred state licenses include Florida, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, and California.
β’ Prior experience with the VA is advantageous.
