Site Reliability Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a globally distributed team of Site Reliability Engineers.

• Establish competencies and development pathways for Systems Engineers transitioning to SRE roles.

• Create and enhance a standardized SRE operating model across Accruent’s SaaS platforms.

• Develop and implement the SRE strategy and roadmap.

• Enhance platform availability, scalability, resilience, operational simplicity, automation, standardization, and observability.

• Manage responses during major incidents and events that impact customers.

• Fortify problem management through root cause analysis and corrective measures.

• Oversee disaster recovery, resilience testing, and business continuity efforts.

• Align SRE priorities, operational practices, resource plans, and transformation initiatives within Cloud Operations.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Security, and Support teams on roadmaps, customer requirements, and business goals.

• Provide senior management with data-driven recommendations regarding reliability, risks, capacity, and investment priorities.

• Assist with platform security, compliance, vulnerability management, continuous improvement, cloud optimization, and capacity planning.

• Minimize unnecessary cloud expenditures while maintaining service quality and resilience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud Operations, DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or a related field.

• More than 3 years of experience leading technical engineering teams.

• Experience in managing workforce transitions, capability development, or the progression of Systems Engineers into SRE roles.

• Background in supporting large-scale SaaS platforms within Microsoft Azure.

• Deep understanding of reliability engineering principles, including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and observability.

• Experience in leading incident management, problem management, disaster recovery, and resilience programs.

• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, automation, monitoring, and cloud security practices.

• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and leadership abilities.

• Capability to articulate technical risks and priorities to senior stakeholders.

• Proven ability to guide teams through change and foster cross-functional collaboration.

• Preferred: Experience in SRE transformation or operating models.

• Preferred: Experience with large-scale customer-facing SaaS solutions.

• Preferred: Experience with globally distributed engineering teams and follow-the-sun operations.

• Preferred: Knowledge of container platforms, cloud-native architectures, and modern observability tools.

• Preferred: Expertise in cloud optimization and FinOps.

• Preferred: Relevant cloud, security, or service management certifications.
