Senior DevSecOps Engineer – Microsoft

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide support to a prime contractor and government client.

• Assist the CRM, Integration, and Platform Services team.

• Design Azure cloud platforms, manage AKS, automate infrastructure, and implement CI/CD, observability, platform reliability, and AI-driven delivery methodologies.

• Integrate security, compliance, automation, scanning, secrets management, and secure release controls into delivery pipelines.

• Collaborate with government stakeholders, architects, engineers, product owners, cybersecurity experts, operations, and business users to turn requirements into platform functionalities.

• Design, configure, develop, integrate, test, document, and maintain Microsoft Azure features utilizing Azure, AKS, Bicep, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Entra ID, Key Vault, Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, Defender for Cloud, and container platforms.

• Enhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, container platform operations, monitoring, alerting, and secure deployment automation.

• Convert business, mission, security, accessibility, and operational needs into technical solutions.

• Assist with platform architecture, backlog refinement, implementation planning, release readiness, and production transition tasks.

• Create reusable patterns, configuration standards, automation scripts, documentation, and support procedures.

• Diagnose complex issues related to platform configuration, code, data, APIs, identity, security, performance, and user experience.

• Work closely with cybersecurity, privacy, data, infrastructure, QA, and change management teams.

• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, design decisions, implementation notes, test evidence, and operational runbooks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• 7+ years of experience in DevSecOps, cloud security, and platform automation.

• Practical experience with Microsoft Azure implementation, configuration, development, integration, testing, or operations.

• Experience collaborating with Agile delivery teams and translating stakeholder requirements into sustainable technical solutions.

• Capability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

• Strong practical knowledge of Microsoft Azure capabilities, implementation patterns, administration, development, integration, and lifecycle management.

• Ability to design and implement secure, maintainable, upgrade-friendly solutions that minimize unnecessary customization and reduce technical debt.

• Familiarity with APIs, identity and access controls, data management, testing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and release coordination.

• Skill in documenting technical designs, configuration decisions, operational procedures, test results, and risks in both business and technical language.

• Excellent communication abilities with government stakeholders, product owners, engineers, QA, cybersecurity, and operations teams.

• Preferred: Microsoft Azure Administrator, Azure Developer, Azure Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer Expert, Security Engineer, or Kubernetes certification.

• Preferred: Experience supporting federal government IT environments, Public Trust programs, or regulated enterprise delivery.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Section 508, cybersecurity, auditability, data protection, and operational documentation standards.

• Preferred: Experience with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, infrastructure as code, or platform release automation.

• Preferred: Understanding of NIST controls, FISMA, FedRAMP-authorized services, audit evidence, and least privilege principles.

• Preferred: Experience enhancing platform governance, reuse, documentation, observability, and operational readiness.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Microsoft 365, ServiceNow, Atlassian, Snowflake, data catalog, CRM, or enterprise integration ecosystems.
