Site Reliability Engineer, Cloud

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take personal accountability for delivering high-quality modifications to a live IT/SaaS infrastructure.

• Oversee essential operational systems that serve millions of customers.

• Develop estimates and work plans, delivering results in an agile fashion.

• Engage in a weekday/weekend on-call rotation.

• Occasionally perform changes outside of standard working hours.

• Monitor the current infrastructure, pinpoint weaknesses, and suggest enhancements.

• Act as the first point of contact for incidents escalated from Technical Support, IT, and development teams, taking corrective actions as necessary.

• Escalate incidents when appropriate.

• Provide incident response and coordination, ensuring resolution of issues while coordinating multiple resources.

• Release software updates in line with product release schedules.

• Oversee infrastructure and support load, take corrective measures when possible, and communicate issues to management.

• Support Sophos's customer-facing systems and cloud services as part of Central Operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2-4 years of practical technical experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

• Familiarity with AWS services including EC2, ECS, EKS, IAM, CloudWatch, SQS, SNS, SSM, S3, and Secrets Manager.

• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and Cursor.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines like Jenkins or GitHub Actions, or similar.

• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, or equivalent.

• Understanding of databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, RDS, and Mongo NoSQL.

• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as PagerDuty, Datadog, CloudWatch, and Logz.io, or equivalent.

• Proficiency in Bash and Python scripting.

• Understanding of IP networking, LAN, and WAN.

• Ability to adapt to new technologies.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Knowledge of malware, spam, and network threats.

• Capacity to interface with senior leadership.

• Comfortable working in a detail-oriented environment.

• Familiarity with GenAI tools like GitHub Copilot and Cursor.

• Exposure to compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 and FedRAMP.

• Legal authorization to work in India without employer sponsorship.
