Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the ongoing cost optimization initiatives following the team's significant cost-reduction strategies.

• Monitor and address SLI/SLO alerts, which include Android/iOS purchase rate metrics.

• Examine any anomalies as they occur.

• Adjust alert thresholds and time windows, including the suppression of low-traffic overnight alerts from 12 AM to 6 AM.

• Manage and sustain the current Kubernetes and EKS infrastructure on a daily basis.

• Assist with infrastructure as code tasks utilizing Terraform.

• Play a role in disaster recovery planning and execution.

• Collaborate with product engineering teams to utilize AWS Bedrock and AWS Marketplace in a cost-effective manner for AI workloads.

• Transition from completing assigned tickets to initiating, wrapping up, and outlining tasks for fellow team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical, hands-on experience with day-to-day Kubernetes operations, with a preference for EKS experience.

• Strong foundational knowledge of AWS, including IAM setup; general AWS certifications are an advantage.

• Practical experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure as code tools.

• Background in managing production systems rather than designing them from the ground up.

• Exposure to or familiarity with Python as an area for growth.

• Understanding of SRE principles such as error budgets and SLIs/SLOs, or a willingness to develop this understanding.

• Familiarity with FinOps or cloud cost management concepts as a potential area for growth.

• Proven determination and ability to independently learn new tools and processes.

• Willingness to embrace mentorship and a collaborative, dialogue-driven learning approach rather than requiring detailed step-by-step instructions.
