Architect, Cloud Site Reliability – SRE

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and oversee large-scale cloud and infrastructure initiatives with a focus on scalability, performance, reliability, availability, security, and cost-efficiency across Azure, AWS, and GCP.

• Manage projects from inception to production, encompassing technical assessment, architecture, implementation, deployment, and operational transition.

• Lead the delivery and execution of projects, overseeing technical scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, and fostering collaboration among Product Engineering, SRE, Security, and other involved parties.

• Offer technical guidance for 24/7 mission-critical multi-cloud environments, guaranteeing operational stability, resilience, and ongoing enhancement.

• Initiate observability, telemetry, automation, self-healing processes, and proactive incident prevention strategies to bolster platform reliability and minimize production challenges.

• Assess and integrate cloud-native technologies and contemporary architectures to enhance scalability, agility, performance, and infrastructure efficiency.

• Develop and execute cloud security and data protection measures, including encryption at rest and in transit, Azure Key Vault, CMK, BYOK, key rotation, certificate management, and encryption functionalities across Azure services.

• Direct application and infrastructure performance evaluations while promoting comprehensive cloud cost optimization and FinOps best practices.

• Collaborate with Microsoft, Amazon, and Google to assess emerging technologies, streamline cloud services, tackle technical issues, and foster innovation.

• Engage with both internal and external clients concerning performance, reliability, security, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution of critical technical challenges, while promoting knowledge management and continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• 12 to 15+ years of experience in mission-critical, 24/7 Cloud Operations/SRE teams within B2B/B2C SaaS companies.

• Proficient in designing and implementing extensive solutions across Azure, AWS, and GCP.

• Demonstrated experience leading large teams in intricate, rapidly evolving, 24/7 environments.

• Strong customer orientation, analytical and communication abilities, capability to build relationships, meet SLAs/deadlines, and achieve results under pressure.

• Competence in simplifying complex technical challenges, creating innovative solutions/workarounds, and functioning effectively in agile, dynamically changing settings.

• Extensive systems and network architecture knowledge across Linux/Windows, SQL databases, compute, storage, and cloud networking.

• Practical experience in Windows and Linux administration and troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with Windows and Linux, SQL database and network administration, TCP/IP, DNS, routing, SSH, firewalls, certificates, permissions, and system hardening.

• Experience managing large-scale systems, including patching, vulnerability remediation, OS upgrades, configuration management, and performance tuning.

• Proficient scripting/automation skills utilizing PowerShell, Bash/Shell, or Python.

• Extensive hands-on experience in designing, deploying, administering, upgrading, and troubleshooting large-scale production AKS/Kubernetes environments.

• Strong Linux administration skills across Ubuntu/RHEL and container ecosystems.

• Practical experience with Docker, container images, Dockerfiles, container registries (ACR), and container security.

• Comprehensive Kubernetes knowledge encompassing workloads, Services, Ingress, ConfigMaps, Secrets, StatefulSets, DaemonSets, Jobs/CronJobs, Namespaces, scheduling, probes, PDBs, HPA, and Cluster Autoscaler.

• In-depth AKS networking and security expertise, including Azure CNI, IP/subnet planning, Network Policies, NSGs, UDRs, Load Balancers, DNS, ingress/egress, private clusters, RBAC, Azure RBAC, Managed Identity, and Workload Identity.

• Experience with AKS node pools, VM sizing, availability zones, workload placement, autoscaling, capacity planning, and resource requests/limits.

• Strong background in AKS monitoring and troubleshooting using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Datadog.

• Proven experience designing highly available, self-healing, scalable, secure, zero-downtime, and disaster-recovery solutions for mission-critical AKS workloads.

• Bachelor's Degree.
