Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Saudi Arabia.

📋 Description

• Enhance, optimize, validate, and automate the fundamental MinIO software to improve performance, scalability, and security.

• Assist in the creation and delivery of high-performance distributed storage solutions tailored for cloud-native architectures.

• Ensure the validation of MinIO software aligns with customer environments and requirements, preventing surprises during customer deployments.

• Refine existing features, resolve critical issues, and contribute to open-source repositories.

• Collaborate with engineers to enhance architecture, APIs, and integrations.

• Produce efficient, well-documented, and maintainable code.

• Execute performance benchmarking and troubleshoot complex storage environments.

• Partner closely with customers to resolve issues and manage expectations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of professional experience in software engineering.

• A strong desire and capability to engage directly with customers to address their needs through product enhancement and automation.

• Proficiency in DevOps, GitOps, automation, and testing frameworks.

• Specialized knowledge in distributed systems, networking, or high-performance computing.

• Familiarity with cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes, containers, and microservices.

• Strong proficiency in Go is preferred (or extensive experience in C/C++/Rust with a willingness to learn Go).

• Comprehensive understanding of storage systems, file systems, or databases.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and experience debugging complex, large-scale applications.

• Contributions to open-source projects will be considered an advantage.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while maintaining a strong sense of ownership.
