Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and develop the infrastructure for PROBIS, a cloud-based platform focused on real estate cost management and financial project control.

• Maintain and enhance Azure-hosted Kubernetes clusters.

• Implement and improve Infrastructure as Code using Pulumi with TypeScript and Terraform.

• Design scalable cloud architectures that meet business needs.

• Ensure dependable deployment processes and implement strategies that enhance frontend and backend performance.

• Monitor and optimize the performance of the microservices architecture.

• Deploy, configure, and maintain Keycloak instances across various environments.

• Implement federation with third-party Identity Providers.

• Configure and optimize authentication flows using SAML, OIDC, and OAuth2.

• Manage user federation, role mappings, and client configurations.

• Design and maintain custom authentication flows as needed.

• Implement and sustain ETL pipelines for both internal and external data warehouses.

• Configure and optimize text extraction tools for document processing.

• Design and deploy middleware connectors for integration with external APIs.

• Support the deployment and integration of AI services within the application stack.

• Ensure secure and efficient data flow between different systems.

• Establish and manage a custom identity management system.

• Implement and uphold infrastructure security best practices.

• Configure and enhance network security using Cloudflare and Nginx.

• Improve monitoring capabilities with tools such as Grafana, Azure Monitor, Mezmo, Lens, and others.

• Implement proactive alerting and incident response protocols.

• Optimize log management and analysis processes.

• Collaborate closely with development teams.

• Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering organization.

• Contribute directly to architectural decisions and technology selection.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in DevOps, with a significant emphasis on Microsoft Azure.

• Extensive hands-on experience in building Infrastructure as Code, preferably with Pulumi/TypeScript and/or Terraform.

• Strong practical experience with Kubernetes and Docker in production settings.

• Proven track record in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong understanding of GitOps principles and contemporary Git workflows.

• Excellent analytical thinking; self-motivated and capable of working independently.

• Outstanding communication skills in English.

• Hands-on experience with Keycloak or a similar identity/access management platform, along with familiarity with SAML, OIDC, and OAuth2 (preferred).

• Practical knowledge of microservices architecture and service mesh technologies (preferred).

• Experience with ETL processes in data warehousing and middleware integration (preferred).

• Familiarity with the React ecosystem and modern build tools, or experience in .NET package optimization and deployment (preferred).

• An interest in AI service integration and text extraction tools (preferred).

• Ability to enhance cloud resources for performance and cost efficiency (preferred).

• Microsoft Azure certifications or a willingness to pursue them (preferred).

• A Master's degree in IT/Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

• Quick learner with a passion for emerging technologies.
