This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.
• Support the MEP Project Manager in finding and assessing subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Create scopes of work for evaluation and approval.
• Formulate the MEP project schedule in alignment with the overall construction timeline.
• Generate estimates for MEP self-performed tasks and contribute to the comprehensive project estimate.
• Oversee and coordinate all trades throughout the construction process.
• Choose qualified bidders and negotiate final pricing.
• Prepare cost-to-complete, monthly billing, status, progress, materials, and cost reports.
• Review and coordinate current P&IDs, mechanical, electrical, shop, architectural, and structural drawings issued to the site.
• Estimate work and draft changes and change orders for review.
• Ensure client satisfaction.
• Coordinate and manage on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to completion.
• Schedule subcontractor assignments.
• Monitor subcontractor productivity and installed quantities.
• Identify needed materials, equipment, and tools and secure supply sources.
• Set up and conclude construction sites.
• Act as the on-site Safety Officer when one is not assigned and engage in the safety segment of the QMS program.
• Procure tools and materials for timely delivery according to work schedules.
• Guide supervisory personnel and subcontractors in planning and executing work procedures and coordinating construction phases.
• Address and resolve workforce complaints and grievances.
• Modify work schedules based on reports and directives from the MEP Project Manager.
• Establish and uphold safety and quality standards.
• Implement and sustain Gray's QMS program and produce traceability and continuous-improvement reports.
• Communicate, apply, and enforce Gray's on-site safety program.
• Interview, hire, train, assign, direct, and evaluate team members; reward and discipline team members; handle complaints and resolve issues.
• Train new team members.
• Carry out other assigned responsibilities.
• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school AND a minimum of ten (10) years of construction experience OR a minimum of 15 years of relevant construction experience with increasing responsibility in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in the light/heavy industrial sector is highly preferred.
• Outstanding leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial statements, and legal/contractual documents.
• Strong skills in people management.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, tablets, and smartphones.
• Familiarity with MS Project and other scheduling software is advantageous.
• Strong work ethic; energetic, self-motivated, and cooperative.
• Ability to think independently and manage tasks without direct supervision.
• This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
• Willingness to travel to project locations across the United States and, in certain instances, internationally.
• Capability to frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, and communicate verbally or audibly.
• Ability to climb or maintain balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to work in wet/humid environments, near moving mechanical parts, outdoors, at heights, around fumes/airborne particles, in extreme temperatures, with electrical shock risks, explosives, vibrations, and moderate to loud noise levels.
• May be required to work overtime.
• May supervise multiple subordinate supervisors and support staff.
• Supervisory experience, including interviewing, hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, rewarding and disciplining team members, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
