
Site Construction Planner β Hydropower Projects

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Create and uphold comprehensive, resource-inclusive construction schedules using Primavera P6 at Levels 4β5.
β’ Collaborate on daily and weekly planning with site teams to arrange work sequences and enhance resource utilization.
β’ Organize and facilitate short-term planning meetings, including lookahead schedules and Last Planner sessions.
β’ Keep a log of execution constraints and ensure timely follow-up and resolution.
β’ Track physical progress, earned value, productivity, and S-curves.
β’ Revise schedules based on actual site conditions and pinpoint schedule risks.
β’ Evaluate discrepancies between planned and actual work and suggest mitigation or recovery strategies.
β’ Review technical drawings and single-line diagrams to identify construction interfaces, access limitations, and sequencing challenges.
β’ Assist with schedule-related claims, including impact and delay analyses, in compliance with contractual provisions.
β’ Compile schedule reports and S-curves for project management and client assessments.
β’ Deliver schedule updates to project management and client representatives, emphasizing progress, risks, and recovery strategies.
β’ Demonstrated experience in planning within a construction-related domain, with a minimum of five (5) years of on-site involvement in industrial projects.
β’ High proficiency in Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 for constructing and managing project schedules and resources.
β’ Familiarity with construction project planning principles, techniques, and methodologies.
β’ Capability to read and interpret construction drawings while understanding interdependencies among mechanical, electrical, piping, and other disciplines.
β’ Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to foresee and mitigate planning-related conflicts and risks.
β’ Strong leadership and proactive, collaborative communication skills.
β’ Proficient in French and able to communicate in English.
β’ Willingness to travel to project sites in QuΓ©bec up to 100% of the time in accordance with established rotation schedules.
β’ Experience in hydropower projects.
β’ Understanding of Lean Construction principles and the Last Planner System.
β’ Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and progress measurement methodologies.
β’ Certification in planning or project management, such as PMI-SP, PMP, or AACE-PSP.
