Simultaneous Interpreter, Portuguese

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Conduct interpretation sessions remotely in a professional manner, while adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Be prepared to take notes during interpretation sessions.

• Familiarize yourself with industry-specific terminology, especially within healthcare and medical domains.

• Ensure accuracy and completeness in interpretation without adding, omitting, or substituting any information.

• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients.

• Engage in internal professional training and pursue additional certifications.

• Maintain communication and provide reports to your team leader.

• Comply with dress code requirements for remote interpretation sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Fluency in English and native-level proficiency in Portuguese.

• At least 1 year of remote simultaneous interpretation experience with a reputable company.

• Strong understanding of medical terminology; familiarity with legal terminology is an added advantage.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA) are beneficial.

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Demonstrate high emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.

• Possess excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
