Short-Term Market Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Oversee short-term electricity positions in both the day-ahead and intraday markets.

• Continuously enhance and refine trading operations.

• Evaluate forecasts, balancing group positions, market prices, and market signals.

• Generate economically optimal trading choices.

• Optimize short-term energy procurement by considering market prices, anticipated imbalance energy prices, and regulatory standards.

• Collaborate with the Commercial Analytics team to further develop models and optimization methodologies.

• Aid in the implementation and ongoing enhancement of automated trading, forecasting, and optimization processes, along with necessary systems.

• Track the effectiveness of trading strategies, forecasts, and models.

• Recognize areas for improvement.

• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal control protocols.

• Participate in cross-functional projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional experience in energy trading, balancing group management, portfolio management, or a similar environment within the energy sector.

• In-depth knowledge of electricity markets and the connections between forecasts, balancing groups, schedules, and imbalance energy.

• Preferably, experience in day-ahead or intraday trading.

• Interest in data-driven decision-making frameworks, automation, and the continuous improvement of trading processes.

• Strong affinity for IT and a quick aptitude for learning new systems, data models, and applications.

• Analytical mindset, proactive attitude, and a systematic work approach.

• Proficient written and spoken German.

• Good command of written and spoken English.
