FinOps Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Act as the FinOps Lead for projects related to cloud product deployment, services, and research & development.

• Offer financial assistance for budget reconciliation, variance analysis, and research concerning budgets and forecasts.

• Provide support during financial gap assessments.

• Oversee the monthly closing process and manage journal entries.

• Examine variances between actual results and forecasts/budgets to pinpoint trends.

• Deliver high-quality independent analysis utilizing spreadsheets and quantitative tools such as MS Power BI.

• Investigate large and intricate datasets to uncover trends and anomalies that may indicate weaknesses in cost control or potential risks.

• Collaborate with engineering and finance teams to understand the requirements for cloud cost analytics.

• Identify significant opportunities to enhance the chargeback process and execute analytical solutions.

• Create and sustain automated chargeback workflows to optimize processes and boost efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of progressive experience in financial planning, accounting, cost management, and data analytics.

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline.

• Strong mathematical abilities or a background in finance, analytics, or statistics, with the capability to manage anomalies.

• Familiarity with or exposure to cloud cost management and best practices, including showback and chargeback methodologies.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, especially in manipulating data extracts using dynamic and logical formulas.

• Experience in data science with tools such as Tableau, Power Query, or Power BI is a plus.

• Familiarity with the Apptio Cloudability tool and SAP is advantageous.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

• Understanding of and compliance with accounting policies and SOX controls.
