Short-Term Market Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Oversee short-term electricity positions in the Day-Ahead and Intraday markets.

• Continuously improve and expand trading operations.

• Evaluate forecasts, balancing group positions, market prices, and market signals.

• Formulate economically optimal trading strategies.

• Enhance short-term energy procurement by considering market prices, anticipated balancing energy prices, and regulatory guidelines.

• Collaborate with the Commercial Analytics team to further develop models and optimization frameworks.

• Assist in the implementation and ongoing enhancement of automated trading, forecasting, and optimization processes, along with the necessary systems.

• Track the performance of trading strategies, forecasts, and models.

• Pinpoint areas for potential improvement.

• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal control protocols.

• Participate in cross-functional projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional experience in energy trading, balancing group management, portfolio management, or a similar environment within the energy sector.

• Comprehensive understanding of electricity markets and the connections between forecasts, balancing groups, schedules, and balancing energy.

• Ideally, experience in Day-Ahead or Intraday trading.

• Enthusiasm for data-driven decision-making models, automation, and the enhancement of trading processes.

• Strong IT skills with the capability to quickly adapt to new systems, data models, and applications.

• Analytical mindset, initiative, and a methodical approach to work.

• Proficient in written and spoken German.

• Good command of written and spoken English.
