Senior Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct thorough research and distill information into concise written materials that support the U.S. Coast Guard Office of Maritime Law Enforcement Policy and the MSAFE Report to Congress.

• Perform open-source research as well as agency-informed investigations.

• Engage with subject matter experts and accurately summarize their insights.

• Analyze intricate information and provide actionable recommendations.

• Appropriately manage sensitive interagency information.

• Collaborate with the MSAFE Report to Congress Task Group.

• Gather, evaluate, and compile data related to IUU fishing.

• Formulate recommendations and draft a comprehensive report for governmental review.

• Assist in drafting revisions throughout the final approval process.

• Maintain consistent communication with the MSAFE Report to Congress Task Group.

• Participate in weekly meetings with MLE to assess progress, review documents, and strategize next steps.

• Meet with the COR within 24 hours of a request to present deliverables, discuss contract status, share information, and address urgent technical issues.

• Transform fragmented agency contributions into a unified final report.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in the natural sciences or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 6–8 years of professional experience in maritime policy, research, and analysis.

• Proficiency in analyzing information sources and producing clear written documentation.

• Experience in technical review and writing.

• Familiarity with marine fisheries legislation, specifically the Maritime Security and Fisheries Enforcement Act.

• Knowledge of maritime policy, research, and analytical methods.

• Capability to conduct open-source and agency-informed research.

• Skill in collecting, evaluating, synthesizing, and presenting information from MSAFE agencies, subject matter experts, embassies, public sources, and other approved sources.

• Competence in analyzing complex information sources and producing clear written reports.

• Ability to conduct interviews with subject matter experts and accurately summarize their findings.

• Capacity to develop practical recommendations based on research and analysis.

• Skill in appropriately handling sensitive interagency information.

• Ability to work collaboratively with government and interagency stakeholders.

• Proficiency in integrating fragmented information and agency inputs into a cohesive final report.
