This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of Shopify theme and storefront projects for client stores, from initial brief to launch, across various engagements as required.

• Develop and sustain Liquid sections, templates, and a scalable theme architecture.

• Implement Checkout Extensibility, Shopify Functions, and contemporary app surfaces.

• Create or enhance custom Shopify applications utilizing Node/Remix or similar technologies for administrative, storefront, or checkout processes.

• Collaborate with project managers, designers, and U.S. clients on project scope, performance, SEO fundamentals, analytics integration, and potential launch challenges.

• Utilize AI coding tools to expedite implementation and carefully review outputs prior to production.

• Recognize and assess risks associated with theme architecture, app scope, and Shopify limitations.

• Deliver comprehensive handoff documentation, environment setups, and maintain repository organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in developing production Shopify themes and/or applications that have been launched.

• Portfolio or list of stores demonstrates actual launches rather than just theme demonstrations.

• Experience in an agency or consultancy setting is preferred.

• Proven ability to engage in discussions with founders or merchants, articulating trade-offs and preserving client trust while rejecting ineffective ideas.

• Proficient in Liquid, sections, snippets, JSON templates, metafields, and maintaining a clean theme structure.

• Comfortable working with Checkout Extensibility and/or Shopify Functions, or custom applications within the current Shopify app ecosystem (Remix/Node or equivalent).

• Experience with Hydrogen or headless setups is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Understanding of performance, accessibility principles, responsive storefronts, and meticulous production deployments.

• Familiarity with AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar, with the capability to review outputs for accuracy in Shopify.

• Proficiency in English at a C1 level or higher.

• Availability until approximately 5 PM EST for live client collaboration.

• Ability to provide honest estimates, identify early blockers, complete commits, and ensure dependable follow-through.
