Services Operations Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Report to the Supervisor of Operation Specialist.

• Collaborate closely with Avantor Lab and Production Services professionals to execute tailored, mission-driven laboratory tasks and research protocols.

• Support various facilities and/or clients within a strategically designated geographic region.

• Undertake roles such as Coordinator, Technician, Material Handler, and Glass Washer during periods of vacation, leave, or emergencies.

• Serve as backup for other regions and travel outside the assigned territory as necessary.

• Organize and direct team initiatives in response to customer needs.

• Partner with management on Standard Operating Procedures, Scopes of Work, Standard Work, On-the-Job Training, and additional responsibilities.

• Engage with customer representatives, purchasing directors, facility directors, and plant managers.

• Acquire laboratory supplies and materials.

• Utilize Avantor and customer-specific systems including SAP, Inventory Manager, Chemical Manager, and other applications.

• Provide training to Avantor Lab and Production Services associates regarding service offerings.

• Offer SAP assistance, encompassing full customer services, credit rebills, and invoice adjustments.

• Adjust and uphold quality metrics and key performance indicators.

• Oversee a budget related to expense reports.

• Achieve revenue, TOE, safety, performance, and quality targets and objectives.

• Develop programs designed to enhance service efficiencies.

• Execute other assigned duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.

• Over 3 years of experience in inventory control, procurement, shipping and receiving, inside sales, etc., is advantageous.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is required.

• Must reside in the Greater Boston area.

• Must be capable of traveling between multiple locations in New Jersey.

• Must be willing to travel outside of New England up to 5% of the time.

• Overnight travel is necessary.

• Must have the ability to use your own vehicle.

• Capability to fly for longer-distance travel is required.

• Sites requiring coverage necessitate associates to be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Previous experience in a GMP facility is highly desirable.

• Excellent communication skills are essential.

• Familiarity with Information Access and System ESS is preferred.

• A valid driver's license is necessary to perform essential job functions.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines is crucial.

• Experience in cross-referencing and inside sales is a plus.

• A CDL is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Forklift Certification is a plus.

• Prior experience with VWR/Avantor products and services is beneficial.

• Knowledge of IATA, DOT, OSHA Right to Know, and IMDG regulations is a plus.
