Services Operations Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Report to the Supervisor of Operation Specialist

• Collaborate closely with Avantor Lab and Production Services experts to execute customized, mission-oriented lab work and research protocols

• Provide support to multiple facilities and/or customers within a strategic geographic area

• Serve as a backup performing Coordinator, Technician, Material Handler, and Glass Washer duties during vacations, leaves, or emergencies

• Act as a backup for additional territories and travel outside the designated area as required

• Lead and coordinate team efforts in alignment with customer requirements

• Complete projects such as Standard Operating Procedures, Scopes of Work, Standard Work, and On-The-Job Training

• Engage directly with customer points of contact, purchasing directors, facility directors, and plant managers

• Procure laboratory supplies and materials

• Utilize Avantor and customer systems, including SAP, Inventory Manager, Chemical Manager, and specific customer applications

• Train Avantor Lab and Production Services associates on service offerings

• Provide SAP support, encompassing customer services, credit rebills, and invoice scrubbing

• Modify and sustain quality metrics and key performance indicators

• Manage a budget related to expense reports

• Achieve revenue, TOE, safety, performance, and quality goals and objectives

• Develop programs to enhance service efficiencies

• Perform additional duties as assigned

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is required

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory control, procurement, shipping and receiving, inside sales, or related fields is advantageous

• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite

• Overnight travel is necessary

• Must possess a personal vehicle and be able to fly for longer travel

• Associates providing coverage at sites must be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required

• Previous experience in a GMP facility is highly desired

• Excellent communication skills are essential

• Familiarity with Information Access and System ESS is beneficial

• A valid driver's license is mandatory to perform essential job functions

• Capability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

• Willingness and ability to travel between various locations

• Experience in cross-referencing and inside sales is a plus

• Forklift Certification is advantageous

• Prior experience with VWR/Avantor products and services is beneficial

• Knowledge of IATA, DOT, OSHA Right to Know, and IMDG regulations is a plus

• CDL is a plus, but not a requirement
