ServiceNow Tester

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Analyze requirements and design functional test cases for various ServiceNow modules (ITSM, ITOM, CSM, HRSD, CMDB, etc.).

• Execute manual and exploratory tests on ServiceNow forms, workflows, UI actions, Service Catalog items, and business rules.

• Validate data migration, import sets, transforms, and ensure data integrity.

• Conduct upgrade testing to verify that customizations remain operational after ServiceNow upgrades.

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts utilizing the ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) or equivalent tools (Selenium, TestNG & Playwright).

• Automate user interface, API, and end-to-end business workflows on the ServiceNow platform.

• Create reusable test libraries, fixtures, and accelerators for ATF and external testing frameworks.

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps).

• Design and execute REST/SOAP API test cases for ServiceNow integrations with external systems.

• Validate API contracts, authentication, authorization, payloads, error handling, and performance.

• Conduct end-to-end integration testing across microservices, middleware, and third-party services.

• Perform performance testing on crucial ServiceNow processes and pages using tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.

• Validate access controls, ACLs, encryption, and security configurations in accordance with corporate policies.

• Participate in vulnerability scans and assist in verifying remediation efforts.

• Implement shift-left testing by engaging in requirement reviews, design discussions, and early defect prevention.

• Define quality metrics and gates for each sprint or release.

• Track and report testing progress, defects, risks, and coverage to stakeholders.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality engineering best practices, standards, and playbooks.

• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, ServiceNow Developers, Architects, and Business Analysts to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria.

• Facilitate defect triage sessions and support root-cause analysis.

• Mentor junior testers and share knowledge regarding ServiceNow testing techniques.

• Ensure traceability among requirements, test cases, and defects.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–8 years of experience in software testing, with a minimum of 2 years dedicated to ServiceNow testing.

• Proven history of testing ServiceNow implementations, custom applications, and upgrades.

• Strong proficiency in the ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF).

• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow UI, workflows, form configurations, business rules, and client/server scripting (JavaScript).

• Proficient in REST/SOAP API testing using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or similar.

• Familiarity with ServiceNow integrations (MID Server, IntegrationHub, web services).

• Experience with data migration tools and strategies (Import Sets, Transform Maps).

• Working knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps) and version control systems (Git).

• Good understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

• Test management experience with tools like Jira, TestRail, or Azure Test Plans.

• Relevant ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CAD, CSDM, etc.).

• ISTQB or an equivalent software testing certification.

• Exposure to performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner).

• Familiarity with ServiceNow Security Operations or Virtual Agent.

• Basic scripting knowledge in PowerShell, Python, or TypeScript.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university.
