ServiceNow Solution Architect – HAM/SAM

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Act as the main technical contact for the delivery of ServiceNow HAM, SAM, ITAM, CMDB, ITOM, and ITSM solutions.

• Lead the complete solution architecture for ServiceNow HAM and SAM projects from initial discovery and requirements gathering to implementation, deployment, and optimization.

• Create technical architectures and scalable solution designs that align with client needs and best practices in the ServiceNow industry.

• Conduct customer workshops, sessions for gathering requirements, architecture evaluations, and technical design discussions.

• Convert business and functional requirements into technical specifications, implementation plans, and strategic roadmaps.

• Provide guidance to clients on asset lifecycle management processes, governance, data quality, compliance, and optimization strategies.

• Design HAM solutions that encompass the entire hardware asset lifecycle.

• Create SAM solutions that address software discovery, normalization, license management, reconciliation, compliance, reclamation, and optimization.

• Develop integrations with CMDB, CSDM, Discovery, ITSM, Service Catalog, Procurement, ITOM, ERP, endpoint management, and other enterprise systems.

• Set up data governance and process controls for asset, contract, entitlement, and CMDB data management.

• Identify and address risks, dependencies, data quality challenges, integration gaps, and governance issues.

• Oversee collaboration among architects, developers, project managers, and client stakeholders during delivery.

• Provide engineers with architectural blueprints, technical requirements, data models, integration specifications, and guidance for implementation.

• Ensure quality across solution configurations, customizations, integrations, data migrations, testing, security, and deployment.

• Achieve outcomes such as enhanced asset visibility, lifecycle management, software compliance, cost efficiency, and operational effectiveness.

• Investigate ServiceNow capabilities and industry trends to suggest enhancements and ongoing improvements.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–12 years of experience in IT services, enterprise architecture, consulting, or solution delivery.

• A minimum of 4 years of direct experience with the ServiceNow platform.

• Extensive experience in implementing or architecting ServiceNow HAM, SAM, ITAM, or similar asset-management functionalities in enterprise settings.

• Profound understanding of hardware asset lifecycle processes.

• In-depth knowledge of software asset-management practices.

• Experience with ServiceNow CMDB and CSDM principles.

• Background in implementing integrations between ServiceNow and various enterprise systems.

• Familiarity with ServiceNow ITOM and CMDB functionalities, including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, Cloud Management, Orchestration, CMDB, and CSDM.

• Proficiency in ServiceNow platform configuration and scripting, including JavaScript, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Actions, UI Pages, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and REST/SOAP APIs.

• Knowledge of integration technologies and protocols, such as SSO, SAML, SSL/TLS, web services, LDAP, JDBC, ODBC, SOAP, SCP, and FTPS.

• Capability to produce architecture diagrams, technical designs, data flows, and implementation documentation.

• Strong communication skills in client-facing situations, workshop facilitation, requirements analysis, and stakeholder management.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
