This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Conduct policy service activities mainly via phone and electronic means.
• Manage requests for policy status, insurance certificates, follow-up on renewals, and related duties.
• Support underwriters with agency-related activities and ensure transactions are completed in a first-time-final manner.
• Accept, adjust, or reject lower-complexity business in accordance with established policies, practices, and standards.
• Accurately assess risk classifications and align pricing and products with customer needs.
• Make decisions on endorsements and identify suitable markets and qualifying risks.
• Gather information from various sources to assist in underwriting analysis.
• Evaluate individual risks for acceptability based on carrier guidelines, state laws, and surplus lines criteria.
• Collaborate with agents and both internal and external partners on customer service matters.
• Suggest improvements for internal process design and operations.
• Organize tasks to comply with timelines and service level agreements.
• Provide agency support, direct calls, manage higher-level issues, and assist brokerage specialists.
• Foster relationships with customers, peers, and team members through exceptional service.
• Contribute to the growth of a profitable book of business, maintaining policies in force, and premium levels.
• P&C License and Surplus Lines License or L&H License in all states (as required by product line) must be obtained within 45 days.
• Completion of undergraduate studies in business administration or a related field; a degree is preferred.
• At least one year of related insurance experience is preferred.
• An undergraduate degree may be considered in place of experience.
• Capability to perform policy service tasks via phone and electronically while adhering to established time and service standards.
• Proficiency in managing policy status requests, insurance certificates, renewal follow-ups, and related activities.
• Ability to assess risks using underwriting guidelines from multiple carriers, state regulations, and surplus lines requirements.
• Skill in determining risk classifications, applicable markets, qualifying risks, and the acceptability of endorsements.
• Capacity to research information from various sources and accurately capture verbal or electronic data.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet timelines and service level agreements.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with agencies and internal and external partners.
