Senior/Staff Software Engineer – SRE, Platform Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Develop and oversee the next generation of infrastructure.

• Construct systems that power OneSignal’s offerings and improve internal services.

• Offer architectural guidance to product teams to ensure optimal service functionality.

• Utilize Kubernetes to automate data center operations.

• Create services that enhance database operation efficiency.

• Detect system bottlenecks and optimize databases and storage solutions.

• Implement infrastructure and configuration as code using Kubernetes and Terraform.

• Establish and maintain observability and monitoring systems.

• Define and execute CI/CD best practices.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to design scalable and observable services.

• Participate in the on-call rotation to troubleshoot and resolve incidents.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in platform management.

• Proven experience in running reliable production systems at scale.

• Familiarity with Linux system internals.

• A strong desire and capability to automate processes.

• Experience managing PostgreSQL for high-throughput systems, or equivalent experience with other relevant SQL databases.

• Operational experience with deploying and managing Kubernetes environments.

• Experience collaborating with cloud service providers (AWS/GCP/Azure).

• Recent experience with Go and/or Rust is a plus.

• Experience working with ScyllaDB is an added advantage.

• Familiarity with Redis, Kafka, etcd, ClickHouse, and Kubernetes is a bonus.
