Senior/Principal Process Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and development of solutions for water and wastewater processes.

• Create and evaluate process engineering deliverables, including PFDs, P&IDs, mass balances, and technical specifications.

• Provide technical guidance and address intricate engineering challenges.

• Assist in the delivery of projects.

• Engage in and contribute to HAZOP, HAZID, and other process safety assessments.

• Develop process safety documentation, encompassing Hazardous Area Classification and LoPA assessments.

• Ensure that designs adhere to applicable regulations, standards, and industry best practices.

• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.

• Execute projects that support Southern Water’s £4.8bn investment programme from inception to completion.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry/Biological Science.

• Chartered status or evidence of learning and development towards achieving chartered status.

• Experience in the water industry.

• Familiarity with water and wastewater process solutions.

• Knowledge of PFDs, P&IDs, mass balances, and technical specifications.

• Capability to participate in HAZOP, HAZID, and other process safety evaluations.

• Proficiency in preparing Hazardous Area Classification and LoPA assessments.

• Ability to ensure designs meet relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices.

• Skill in collaborating with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.

• Newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location.
