Senior/Lead Product Design Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Product Design team on project-driven initiatives.

• Investigate user behaviors and refine product features accordingly.

• Utilize code and AI as innovative tools in the design process.

• Work autonomously while also partnering with cross-functional teams.

• Take ownership of deliverables from initial exploration to final execution.

• Recognize opportunities, make well-informed decisions, and implement significant product updates.

• Apply strategic thinking and execute in a systematic manner.

• Create experiences that convey membership value across various markets with local relevance.

• Advance AllTrails’ design language and standardize visual and motion effects.

• Utilize and contribute to the evolving design system.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional experience in researching, designing, and launching consumer-facing digital product features for iOS, Android, and web platforms.

• Significant experience in the B2C sector.

• Proven track record of guiding ideas from concept to launch and learning from post-launch metrics.

• Capacity to prioritize essential tasks, assess project scope, and deliver high-quality results on time.

• Expertise in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.

• Ability to facilitate constructive feedback and adapt designs to align with business goals.

• Proficiency in providing design guidance and pattern suggestions to team members across functions.

• Skilled in gaining stakeholder support for high-impact projects.

• Strong judgment in visual, interaction, and motion design.

• Proficient in AI, including prompt creation, context provision, critical evaluation of AI-generated content, and iterative improvement.

• Strong understanding of design systems.

• Established digital presence with the ability to engage and expand online communities.

• Excellent branding and illustration capabilities.

• Solid grasp of color theory and visual storytelling techniques.
