Senior Workplace Engineer, File Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Oversee and assist in managing enterprise file services environments, which includes CIFS/SMB and NTFS.

• Diagnose, optimize, and transition file services to ensure operations are stable, secure, and high-performing.

• Administer and enhance Active Directory environments effectively.

• Oversee permissions, file share access, groups, and directory architecture management.

• Create and enhance automation solutions using PowerShell and Automic (UC4).

• Minimize manual efforts and boost operational efficiency across workplace infrastructure services.

• Participate in migration, integration, and consolidation initiatives.

• Modernize file services environments and refine access management processes.

• Deliver advanced troubleshooting and conduct root-cause analysis in intricate workplace infrastructure setups.

• Recognize opportunities for enhancing processes, tools, and operational practices.

• Aid in the continuous evolution and optimization of workplace infrastructure services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive expertise at a senior level in File Services, encompassing CIFS/SMB and NTFS troubleshooting and migration tasks.

• In-depth knowledge of Active Directory at a senior level, including architecture, permissions, and group management.

• Proficient in PowerShell scripting and automation, including complex script libraries and reusable modules.

• Intermediate or greater experience with Microsoft SQL Server.

• Intermediate or more experience in Automic (UC4) administration and support.

• Demonstrable experience in on-premises enterprise environments.

• Proven track record in delivering migration or system integration projects.

• Regular utilization of AI tools to enhance productivity, automate or minimize repetitive tasks, support decision-making, and produce higher-quality results.

• Capacity to utilize AI tools responsibly, structure effective prompts, critically validate outputs, comprehend limitations, and take ownership of final results.

• Certifications related to M365 services are preferred.

• Experience in highly customized enterprise environments with extensive automation frameworks is a plus.
