Senior Water Resources Engineer – Mining

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Deliver engineering services to mining clients as a member of the Mining Team.

• Engage in hydrotechnical projects, encompassing site investigations, studies, and comprehensive engineering for multidisciplinary undertakings.

• Create engineering calculations, technical specifications, data sheets, and reports.

• Execute engineering calculations and models for seepage and stability, design of pipes and drainage ditches, hydrology and hydraulics, erosion, settling of solids, alternative cover demonstrations, geochemistry, and statistical analysis.

• Support engineers and EITs with project scope, cost, and scheduling requirements.

• Develop technical specifications informed by contributions from various disciplines.

• Plan and carry out field exploration programs, including soil boring and test pit logging, well installation, development, and sampling.

• Contribute to engineering, operating, and capital cost estimations.

• Review and assess technical work produced by junior and intermediate engineers, designers, technicians, and technologists.

• Conduct and document construction observation and quality assurance testing for geosynthetics or earthworks.

• Prepare interpretive reports that support engineering design and construction documentation.

• Create grading plans and designs utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D.

• Assist with reports, cost estimations, specifications, and permit documentation.

• Report directly to the Vice President, Central Canada Mining, under the guidance of the Director of Engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional Engineer license in Ontario, Manitoba, and/or Newfoundland/Labrador.

• A minimum of 10+ years of project engineering experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Water Resources, Geological, Geotechnical, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering field.

• Willingness to operate within various industries and market sectors.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Proven leadership capabilities.

• Flexibility to travel for extended assignments and at short notice.

• Strong work ethic.

• Proficient in using computers and engineering software.

• Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Organized, self-driven, proactive, and detail-focused.

• Solid understanding of design engineering codes and technical standards.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
