Release Train Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Dakota, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Act as a servant leader and coach for Agile teams.

• Promote SAFe practices and principles throughout the Agile Release Train.

• Assist teams in recognizing and eliminating bottlenecks, as well as resolving escalated impediments.

• Facilitate PI planning sessions, sprint iteration demonstrations, retrospectives, and Scrum of Scrums.

• Oversee the Digital delivery portfolio and associated ceremonies on a global scale.

• Define KPIs for the Agile Release Train, monitor progress, and communicate status to leadership and stakeholders.

• Supervise and track program-level execution to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions within scope.

• Provide transparency into progress, metrics, and obstacles.

• Assist in the development of the Bobcat Digital annual operating plan, including forecasts and estimates.

• Offer effort and time estimates for new business initiatives.

• Anticipate and manage the right-sizing of delivery teams in collaboration with Digital and supplier labor providers.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Solution Architects, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, business stakeholders, and other ART participants.

• Identify risks and dependencies, and formulate mitigation strategies.

• Mentor Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and team leads in Agile best practices and SAFe principles.

• Establish ART best practices through retrospectives and process enhancements.

• Evaluate and refine Agile practices to boost efficiency, quality, and throughput.

• Engage business and technical stakeholders to ensure alignment between delivery and strategic goals while managing expectations.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 7+ years of experience in software engineering and management roles.

• A minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Release Train Engineer or in a similar role within a SAFe/Agile environment.

• Comprehensive understanding and hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and XP.

• Familiarity with the SAFe framework.

• Strong leadership and communication abilities.

• Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and delivering software solutions.

• Solid grasp of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), modern engineering practices, and technologies.

• Experience with cloud technologies, microservices architecture, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines is advantageous.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to make data-informed decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
