Senior UX and Product Design Consultant – Part-time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Perform thorough UX assessments of current products and workflows.

• Detect pain points and suggest enhancements based on recognized UX principles.

• Review new features prior to development to guarantee they are intuitive and user-friendly.

• Work collaboratively with Product Managers, Developers, and stakeholders throughout the product development cycle.

• Develop user flows, prototypes, and interactive designs as needed.

• Implement UX methodologies and best practices within the product development framework.

• Set design standards, interaction patterns, and usability guidelines.

• Propose enhancements to navigation, information architecture, accessibility, and overall product coherence.

• Collaborate with Product leadership to guide roadmap prioritization from a UX perspective.

• Assess product decisions based on customer outcomes, usability, and market competitiveness.

• Spot opportunities where enhanced experiences can create strategic product differentiation.

• Weigh usability enhancements against technical constraints and product priorities.

• Engage in design reviews and offer constructive feedback.

• Integrate UX thinking into planning, estimation, feature discovery, and product evaluations.

• Guide developers and stakeholders on user-centered design principles.

• Forge relationships with Product and Development teams as a trusted design partner.

• Identify significant usability improvements across both legacy and modern platforms.

• Assist in creating a unified design language and interaction standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional UI/UX design experience.

• Extensive experience in enhancing B2B SaaS products.

• A robust portfolio showcasing complex software applications, rather than just marketing websites.

• Proficiency in user-centered design methodologies.

• Strong understanding of interaction design, information architecture, and accessibility standards.

• Exceptional communication and facilitation abilities.

• Capacity to constructively challenge assumptions and advocate for user needs while considering business objectives and technical realities.

• Experience collaborating with Agile product teams.

• Bonus: Experience in CRM, ERP, case management, fundraising, or enterprise software.

• Bonus: Background in modernizing or evolving established enterprise software products.

• Bonus: Experience with software intended for nonprofit organizations.
