Senior Transportation Operations Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Rhode Island.

📋 Description

• Analyze intricate transportation data, routes, and delivery patterns to uncover opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency.

• Assess and enhance carrier selection, route planning, and load consolidation.

• Evaluate shipment volumes, transportation expenses, transit durations, carrier performance, and associated metrics.

• Conduct freight payment and auditing tasks, ensuring compliance with contracts and alignment of freight rates.

• Review and manage relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers.

• Develop and track transportation Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) while providing management with performance insights.

• Identify and implement strategies for continuous improvement.

• Utilize transportation management systems and data analytics to enhance supply chain visibility and monitor shipments in real-time.

• Collaborate with procurement, inventory management, and demand planning teams.

• Lead projects related to transportation technology implementation and process enhancements.

• Engage with retail leaders and associates in Category Management, Inventory Management, Logistics, and Distribution Centers.

• Provide ad-hoc analysis and reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in the transportation industry OR a degree in a related discipline.

• At least 1 year of experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

• Demonstrated ability to create, maintain, and operate Access databases.

• Familiarity with problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Bachelor's degree is preferred.

• Specialized training or relevant professional certifications are beneficial.

• Certification as a Logistics Associate (CLA) is preferred.

• Certification as a Supply Chain Analyst (CSCA) is preferred.

• Capacity to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
