Senior Transmission Line Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Lead and manage intricate transmission line designs from initial engineering concepts to final design stages, encompassing EFM, conductor sizing, induction, impedance, losses, and voltage drop analysis.

• Offer senior-level technical guidance and expertise to the design team, ensuring technical precision, adherence to best practices, and the implementation of industry-leading design solutions.

• Execute essential engineering studies, including conductor economic assessments, lightning performance evaluations, grounding calculations, and electrical clearance determinations in accordance with NESC and relevant standards.

• Interpret and implement regulatory requirements such as NERC, FERC, and regional standards, ensuring compliance throughout all project deliverables.

• Draft and assess technical documentation, including specifications, data sheets, RFQs, bid evaluations, vendor drawings, and purchase recommendations.

• Partner with project managers on defining scopes, establishing schedules, managing budgets, staffing plans, construction support, and handling change order management.

• Conduct and review QA/QC processes for engineering deliverables, production drawings, CAD outputs, and construction administration tasks, addressing design-related field challenges.

• Perform and lead field inspections, measurements, calculations, and installation assessments for both public and private sector clients.

• Develop and present technical reports, assist in marketing and business development initiatives, and cultivate strong relationships with clients and contractors.

• Mentor, lead, and provide guidance to junior engineers, ensuring effective cross-discipline communication and adherence to company safety, quality, and performance standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, or Power Engineering (or a related field)

• Over 5 years of experience in transmission line engineering (design, analysis, modeling, or related fields)

• More than 5 years of experience in an electric utility, EPC, or engineering consulting environment

• At least 5 years of experience utilizing PLS-CADD
