Senior Training & Education Specialist – Cardiac Surgery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the vascular surgery training landscape within the designated area.

• Collaborate with training programs and internal stakeholders to pinpoint opportunities for Medtronic's educational support.

• Organize education and ensure appropriate exposure to Medtronic Aortic therapies, technologies, clinical evidence, and procedural training.

• Facilitate product in-services, simulation activities, case sizing and planning education, Medtronic Academy resources, and sanctioned educational programs.

• Encourage participation in the Young Endovascular Specialists curriculum and other offerings from Medtronic Academy.

• Identify educational gaps and relay customer insights to the Training & Education team.

• Cultivate relationships with graduating trainees and early-career vascular surgeons.

• Maintain engagement with emerging physicians post-graduation.

• Represent and support key national and regional conferences, particularly along the East Coast.

• Assist with workshops, simulation programs, dinners, meetings, and other approved conference interactions.

• Collaborate with national and local field teams, faculty, and meeting-planning partners on regional education programs for trainees.

• Act as a strategic resource for district managers, sales representatives, clinical specialists, and ambassadors.

• Ensure visibility for trainees nearing graduation and facilitate transitions as they move into new practices.

• Collaborate with U.S. and Global Training & Education, Medical Education, Medical Science, Marketing, Faculty Relations, and other stakeholders.

• Maintain accurate records of trainee engagement, tracking, graduate destinations, and handoff information.

• Monitor educational engagements and program participation.

• Share insights on regional customer needs, educational requirements, emerging trends, and best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent with over 8 years of relevant experience in a clinical lab setting, clinical training, field sales/support in the medical device or healthcare industry, or equivalent -OR- Associate's Degree with 6+ years of experience -OR- Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years of experience.

• Willingness to travel within the assigned geography and nationally as needed (approximately 70%).

• Proven experience in developing and sustaining professional relationships with healthcare professionals, physician learners, academic programs, or healthcare organizations.

• In-depth knowledge of vascular surgery, endovascular therapies, aortic disease, or related cardiovascular specialties.

• Background in supporting physician education, residency programs, fellowship programs, or transition-to-practice initiatives.

• Demonstrated experience in coordinating cross-functional projects and customer-facing initiatives.

• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, organizational, and relationship-management skills.

• For degrees obtained outside the United States, a qualification that meets the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is necessary.

• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required at the time of hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
