This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Conduct investigations, negotiations, evaluations, and appraisals of vehicle damage claims for both repairable and total-loss vehicles.
• Assess complex auto physical-damage claims utilizing digital tools alongside relevant contracts, guidelines, laws, and regulations.
• Analyze claim damages while liaising with insured individuals, internal claims adjusters, third parties, and vendors.
• Examine loss facts and vehicle damage for subrogation prospects, ensuring proper documentation is maintained.
• Utilize extensive knowledge of Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance products, contracts, processes, and systems.
• Scrutinize claims and suppliers for potential fraud indicators, referring pertinent cases to the Special Investigations Unit.
• Keep claim-file documentation accurate and up to date.
• Oversee desk productivity, manage follow-ups, repair plans, and timelines for repairs.
• Assess additional damage reported by repair facilities, complete supplements, or coordinate triage inspections for field providers.
• Act as a subject-matter expert for disputed claims or trials, providing support to team members on escalated issues.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal business partners to resolve high-complexity claims effectively.
• Coordinate with external regulators as necessary to ensure documentation and compliance are upheld.
• Clarify coverage details, repair estimates, total-loss valuations, and claims or repair processes to policyholders.
• Assist during workload surges and catastrophe response operations, including mandatory on-call duties and potential evening, weekend, or holiday work.
• Travel with little notice for assigned catastrophe deployments.
• Manage higher-complexity claims and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Identify, assess, monitor, and control business risks in accordance with risk and compliance policies.
• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in auto appraising.
• Strong knowledge of P&C insurance policy contracts and coverages, as well as the auto parts distribution process and claim appraisal procedures.
• Advanced proficiency in estimating losses using CCC or similar estimating platforms.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills for interaction with members, claimants, repair facilities, and various internal and external stakeholders.
• Acquisition and maintenance of an insurance adjuster license within 90 days and a maximum of 3 attempts.
• A valid driver’s license may be required, along with compliance with USAA’s safe driving standards.
• Active Texas or Florida All-Lines Adjusters License is preferred.
• I-CAR ProLevel 3 (Platinum) certification or actively pursuing ProLevel 3 certification.
• Experience as a Field Auto Appraiser with a Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance carrier is advantageous.
• Capability to prepare estimates and evaluations using the CCC estimating platform.
• Experience and proficiency in crafting accurate collision repair estimates in both Virtual and Field settings.
