Senior Test Automation Engineer – Playwright, TypeScript

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain automated end-to-end test suites utilizing Playwright.

• Establish automated coverage for new features, pages, and essential user workflows.

• Validate functionality across both web and mobile platforms.

• Conduct usability, performance, accessibility, and cross-browser testing.

• Detect regressions and quality risks early in the development lifecycle.

• Maintain and continuously enhance the existing testing infrastructure.

• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and UX/UI teams.

• Contribute to defining testing standards, processes, and best practices in quality engineering.

• Offer technical guidance and leadership to other QA/Test Engineers as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience as a Test Engineer, QA Automation Engineer, SDET, or a related role.

• Strong practical experience in creating end-to-end automated tests with Playwright.

• High proficiency in TypeScript.

• Solid grasp of HTML5 and CSS3 fundamentals.

• Experience in testing modern JavaScript/TypeScript web applications.

• Familiarity with React.js and Next.js 15+ applications.

• Experience with Git and collaborative software development processes.

• Previous experience in leading, mentoring, or managing test/QA engineers.

• Ability to define test strategies beyond merely executing predefined test cases.

• Strong understanding of regression testing, cross-browser testing, and automated quality assurance.

• Comfortable functioning in a fast-paced, product-oriented environment with a high degree of ownership.

• English: professional working proficiency is required.

• Candidates must be located in a compatible European time zone, with a strong preference for Portugal and Lisbon as the ideal location.
