Senior Technical Solutions Engineer

📋 Description

• Perform technical due diligence on inverter, EMS, MVT, and associated power-system products.

• Create and sustain internal tools for system sizing, product design, project development, product validation, and solution optimization.

• Work alongside R&D and technical teams on design development, interface definition, validation testing, and alignment of platform roadmaps.

• Assess technical specifications, drawings, certifications, test reports, performance claims, and integration requirements for externally sourced products.

• Assist with Independent Engineer reviews and customer-led technical due diligence processes.

• Track and interpret product standards, grid codes, electrical requirements, and communication protocols.

• Define and review electrical interfaces among inverters, battery systems, MVT, MV switchgear, protection equipment, auxiliary systems, EMS, and grid connections.

• Facilitate cross-functional communication to launch new products to engineering, project execution, and applications teams.

• Ensure traceability of vendor/product documentation, internal evaluations, and platform status.

• Manage supplier and product workstreams, documenting technical dependencies, responsibilities, deliverables, and unresolved issues.

• Engage in integration testing across inverter skids, battery enclosures, BMS, EMS, MVT, auxiliary systems, and related electrical equipment.

• Lead internal discussions to troubleshoot control strategies and promote platform optimization.

• Provide technical insights for project-specific requirements, custom feature requests, and client-specific configurations.

• Generate internal documentation, reference templates, and knowledge-sharing tools.

• Collaborate with global R&D and applications engineering teams on feature roadmaps and deployment readiness.

• Undertake other related tasks as assigned by management.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems, controls engineering, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of experience in engineering, R&D, or project commissioning in power electronics, energy storage, microgrids, power generation, or related sectors.

• Direct experience in inverter product development, control systems, or commissioning energy storage projects is highly preferred.

• Strong foundational knowledge of electrical systems, including power systems, power electronics, inverters, plant-level controls, transformers, medium-voltage equipment, protection, and system integration.

• Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and microgrid applications, covering electrical architecture, equipment interfaces, controls, and system integration.

• Familiarity with medium-voltage transformers and related MV equipment, encompassing equipment ratings, selection, sizing, protection, electrical interfaces, and system integration.

• Preferred knowledge of gas turbine systems, including technical evaluation, equipment selection and sizing, operating characteristics, performance assessment, and integration within microgrid or power-system applications.

• Understanding of key standards and certifications, including pertinent UL, IEEE, IEC, medium-voltage equipment, and grid-interconnection requirements.

• Experience working with international partners, especially engineering or manufacturing teams across different time zones.

• Proven ability to lead or contribute to the development of internal engineering tools, system models, or automation processes.

• Strong technical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills, with a practical approach to product validation and integration.

• Proficiency in Mandarin is advantageous but not mandatory.
