Senior Technical Project Leader – BI, Power BI Builder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of Business Intelligence (BI) and Power BI projects from the requirement phase through deployment and ongoing support.

• Design, construct, test, implement, and sustain Power BI dashboards, KPI scorecards, executive reports, and operational performance views.

• Integrate Power BI with PowerApps, SharePoint, Excel, SQL, APIs, and various Microsoft 365 data sources.

• Evaluate program and operational data utilizing Power BI, Excel, Python, and SQL to uncover trends, risks, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.

• Conduct stakeholder workshops to establish reporting requirements, KPIs, business rules, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Create project plans, timelines, milestone tracking, risk registers, technical roadmaps, and status reports.

• Manage BI backlogs, dependencies, risks, technical challenges, testing, demonstrations, and user feedback.

• Ensure data quality, validation, reconciliation, requirements traceability, and identification of authoritative data sources.

• Collaborate with cloud, cybersecurity, and data teams to ensure BI solutions meet DHS/USCG security, privacy, and governance standards.

• Assist with Agile planning, sprint reviews, technical demonstrations, and executive briefings.

• Establish reusable dashboard standards, templates, and reporting best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 10 years of relevant experience in IT, analytics, systems engineering, or leading technical projects.

• Proven track record in leading cross-functional technical projects.

• Practical experience with Power BI, PowerApps, SharePoint, Excel, SQL, Python, and Microsoft 365.

• Experience in developing executive dashboards, KPIs, analytical products, and decision-support reports.

• Proficient in requirements analysis, process mapping, data validation, root cause analysis, and technical documentation.

• Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a DHS Public Trust clearance.

• PMP and/or Microsoft Power BI / Power Platform certification is preferred.
