This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Oversee the complete delivery process of data platform projects — from mobilization, discovery, and building to migration, going live, and hypercare — utilizing Databricks and Snowflake, primarily on Azure or AWS.
• Take ownership of the delivery schedule, project scope, budget, staffing, and risk management; facilitate steering committees and provide updates to client executives without any surprises.
• Collaborate with the lead architect to define and advocate for the technical strategy, addressing lakehouse versus warehouse-centric design, data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, data quality, and observability.
• Manage the engineering workflow: backlog, sprint planning, release management, environment strategy, CI/CD practices, and defining completion criteria.
• Oversee migrations from Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, and on-prem Hadoop to cloud environments, including reconciliation, cut-over planning, parallel runs, and decommissioning activities.
• Monitor platform economics such as DBU and Snowflake credit usage, sizing of warehouses and clusters, cluster policies, and FinOps reporting.
• Establish governance frameworks including Unity Catalog / Snowflake Horizon, access models, handling of PII, lineage tracking, and auditing processes.
• Lead diverse teams of 5–15 data engineers, architects, analysts, and QA professionals; mentor and develop their skills.
• Participate in creating proposals, estimating project efforts, defining delivery methodologies, developing accelerators, and providing pre-sales support.
• Minimum of 8 years in data and analytics project delivery, with at least 3 years as a delivery, project, or engagement manager responsible for program results (scope, budget, timeline, quality).
• Successfully delivered at least two production data platform projects end-to-end on Databricks and/or Snowflake — whether greenfield builds or migrations — with hands-on experience in identifying potential go-live issues.
• Possess technical fluency that goes beyond mere terminology: capable of reading SQL and PySpark, understanding Delta Lake and Iceberg table formats, Unity Catalog, Snowflake virtual warehouses, streams and tasks, and Snowpark; able to assess pipeline designs and challenge estimates.
• Strong delivery management skills, including estimation, scope and change control, tracking budgets and estimates-at-completion, risk and issue management, vendor coordination, and proficiency in agile and hybrid delivery models.
• Familiarity with cloud solutions on Azure or AWS at a solution level, covering aspects like networking, identity, storage, and cost management.
• Experience in delivering projects within regulated sectors (banking, insurance, healthcare), ensuring compliance with data governance, privacy (GDPR), and auditing standards within the delivery framework.
• Excellent executive-level communication skills: capable of producing structured written status reports, creating clear steering decks, and proactively addressing challenges with proposed solutions.
• Full professional proficiency in both Polish and English.
• Complete ownership of your projects with direct access to client executives — no unnecessary layers of review.
• Competitive compensation on a B2B basis.
• Annual budget for training and certifications, including tracks for Databricks and Snowflake certifications.
• Flexible remote work model with access to a central office in Warsaw.
• A chance to influence a growing firm: contribute to our data & AI offerings, delivery methods, recruitment, and company culture.
