This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +3 more states.
• Evaluate individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns prepared by staff in collaboration with tax department supervisors and managers.
• Support client engagements throughout the firm, with a particular emphasis on partnership taxation.
• Conduct electronic research on tax matters and draft position memos for review by partners, clients, and the IRS.
• Enhance clients’ tax liabilities and credit reporting practices to streamline operations and minimize tax burdens.
• Stay informed about changes in tax codes, accounting procedures, and accounting theories to assess financial information.
• Guide and mentor staff by providing technical, procedural, and professional support.
• Assist in the creation, implementation, and monitoring of tax quality-control policies and procedures.
• Prepare intricate individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns.
• Develop and present tax-related presentations to partners, clients, and staff.
• Update tax and A&A staff on emerging tax issues.
• Build and nurture client relationships while engaging in business development to enhance the firm and employee growth.
• Facilitate tax compliance, perform thorough tax-law research, provide actionable insights, and devise strategies for tax liability optimization.
• Oversee client relationships and keep the team informed about changes in tax regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• CPA or EA certification is preferred or currently in pursuit.
• A minimum of 2 years of public accounting experience.
• Experience in Renewable Fuels is advantageous.
• Proficient in technical research and writing.
• Strong leadership and motivational abilities, including training and mentoring team members under tight deadlines or complex scenarios.
• Exceptional client service and relationship management skills with effective and professional communication.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, critical-thinking, and attention-to-detail abilities.
• Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Position is available to remote candidates across the U.S.; preference will be given to applicants located in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin due to proximity for occasional in-person meetings, team collaboration, or client engagements.
• Availability typically required Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. CST.
