This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the selection and onboarding of suppliers by evaluating their capacity and technical/manufacturing capabilities through comprehensive process audits.

• Lead and carry out first-piece qualifications, which include design reviews, special process audits, test witnessing, and inspections of both in-process and final products.

• Engage in pre-purchase-order award meetings and contribute to the assessment of supplier performance ratings.

• Facilitate quarterly supplier quality review meetings and initiate corrective action plans for quality improvements as necessary.

• Conduct supplier project kick-off meetings in collaboration with Engineering.

• Create supplier surveillance strategies and carry out reviews of supplier requirements and design meetings.

• Formulate and evaluate supplier inspection/test plans as well as special process procedures.

• Design and implement audit strategies based on data and risk assessments, including comprehensive process audits, special process audits, and product inspections.

• Ensure adherence to GE specifications and technical regulations/standards; produce audit reports and update audit tracking systems.

• Authorize material shipments by finalizing supplier deviation requests, examining end-of-manufacturing reports, confirming containment status, and permitting dispatch.

• Oversee supplier technical deviations, non-conformances, and address field complaints.

• Direct root-cause analyses and investigations, monitor the effectiveness of CAPA implementations, conduct containment, and assist in vendor recovery.

• Track supplier-related failure data to promote continuous improvements in line with GEV supplier quality management system protocols.

• Propel supplier quality enhancement initiatives, which include comprehensive audits, supplier PFMEA/DFMEA development, DSQR implementation, and the installation and commissioning of supplier technical advisor sites.

• Supervise and manage supplier quality key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Serve as the Commodity Coordinator and the primary contact for interface functions.

• Aid in the development of SQE technical competencies and the implementation of lessons learned.

• Support project team ITO activities and engage in Global Quality Value Stream initiatives.

• Lead and mentor the resolution of major customer issues and root-cause analyses.

• Prepare standard quality requirements for projects.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials or Quality Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited university or college.

• Extensive experience in supplier qualification processes (PPAP or equivalent).

• Over 8 years of professional experience in quality, operations/supply chain, or project management, ideally in the Power Generation/Aerospace sector.

• Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and standards.

• Strong comprehension of gas turbine design and its components.

• Familiarity with manufacturing processes including casting, forging, welding, heat treatment, coating, machining, assembly, and non-destructive testing (NDT), as required.

• Demonstrated commitment to safety, compliance, quality, and lean methodologies.

• Proven experience utilizing industrial quality tools for risk assessment, root cause analysis, problem-solving, and manufacturing process controls.

• Ability to effectively organize work time within a global team environment.

• Willingness to adjust work hours for meetings with stakeholders across different time zones.

• Flexibility and readiness to travel to supplier sites globally, up to 30% of the time.

• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

• Competence in interpreting engineering drawings, models, and standards.

• Certifications in special processes such as coatings (NACE), welding (CWI), non-destructive testing (NDT Level 1-3), and/or training certifications in methodologies like 5-why, 8D root cause analysis, and quality management systems such as ISO 9001:2015 lead auditor training.

• Experience in the operation, design, or inspection of power industry equipment, including components related to gas turbines, fluids, mechanical, or electrical systems.

• In-depth understanding of gas turbines and aerospace equipment and components.

• Experience in interfacing with customers and senior leadership.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, if required.
