This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Vietnam.
• Deliver Quality Engineering support for Axon products, which encompass Conducted Electrical Weapons, cartridges, body-worn cameras, and their accessories.
• Collaborate with suppliers alongside Axon Design Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
• Work together on the selection of qualified suppliers.
• Spearhead initiatives to quantify and enhance supplier performance.
• Perform assessments of new suppliers and conduct onsite supplier audits.
• Audit critical manufacturing and inspection processes, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure that New Product Introductions comply with established criteria and inspection plans.
• Analyze supplier NPI yield, Jira tickets, OQC, FAIR/PPAP, DFM/DFx, PFMEA, and Quality Control Plans.
• Facilitate the development and maintenance of supplier PFMEA.
• Evaluate supplier inspection capabilities and analyze Cpk, Ppk, and Gage R&R studies.
• Set quality goals and improvement projects; monitor supplier yield rates.
• Drive monthly yield improvements and ensure consistent part quality.
• Oversee supplier quality performance and conduct periodic quality/business reviews.
• Develop, implement, and oversee supplier quality improvement initiatives, including performance forums, certifications, process enhancements, cost reductions, and process audits.
• Ensure that Critical to Quality attributes and key process parameters are monitored for process capability.
• At least 10 years of experience in problem-solving related to the manufacturing of mechanical parts (such as cast metal parts, molded rubber or plastic parts, cast ceramic parts, and machined and stamped parts).
• Extensive experience with the NPI process and milestones, the role of SQE for NPI, and key activities during the NPI stages.
• Strong understanding of quality management system (QMS) requirements, including ISO9001, ESD20.20, IATF16949, IPC-1602, IPC-A-610, or a comparable certification and quality criteria.
• Minimum five years of experience in audits using ISO9001, IATF16949, VDA 6.3, or a comparable quality management system.
• Exceptional data analysis, root cause analysis, problem resolution, and decision-making abilities.
• Comprehensive knowledge of QC tools, methods, and practices, including PPAP, SPC, DOE, PFMEA, Control Plans, GR&R, Lean Manufacturing, DMAIC, and 8D Methodology.
• Outstanding teamwork and collaboration abilities; capable of communicating effectively across all organizational levels and building relationships with suppliers.
• Ability to influence suppliers and internal teams.
• Capability to thrive in a highly dynamic environment, manage multiple priorities, and respond swiftly to emergencies.
• Excellent time management and multitasking skills; adept at managing project milestones systematically.
• Proficient in written and verbal communication in English.
• Experience with statistical software such as QI Macros, Minitab, or JMP.
• Willingness to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally.
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Material Engineering (as listed under preferred education and certification).
• Preferred certifications include Green/Black Belt, CMQ/OE, CQE, and CSSBB.
