This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +30 more states.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data imports, updates, transformations, and extractions involving datasets ranging from hundreds to millions of records.
• Analyze and interpret complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, functions, and other database operations.
• Create and execute SQL test queries to validate data integrity, business logic, and anticipated outcomes.
• Utilize SQL Server, Excel, and related tools for data analysis to confirm business and project requirements.
• Design and implement test cases that encompass normal conditions, exceptions, data anomalies, and various scenarios.
• Assess requirements and specifications to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and data quality concerns.
• Collaborate with data engineers, business analysts, project managers, and QA team members to identify, document, troubleshoot, and resolve defects.
• Validate corrections and solutions to problems.
• Assist business partners in translating functional requirements into testing scenarios and validation criteria.
• Conduct peer reviews to identify mistakes and ensure compliance with Data Services standards.
• Maintain documentation and work artifacts that reflect completed validation and testing processes.
• Provide status updates to leadership, Workforce, project managers, and stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• Over 2 years of substantial experience in database testing or data validation, including the ability to write and execute complex SQL queries.
• At least 1 year of practical experience with T-SQL, ANSI-89, and/or ANSI-92 SQL.
• Strong understanding of relational databases and the capability to comprehend moderately to highly complex SQL logic.
• Experience in reviewing and understanding stored procedures, functions, triggers, and database logic.
• Background in a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, QA/Data Testing, Process Specialist, or a similar analytical position.
• Excellent analytical skills and deductive reasoning with a keen attention to detail.
• Knowledge of data modeling and data organization principles.
• Familiarity with extract, transform, and load (ETL) concepts, tools, and processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Comfortable with NULL handling, subqueries, primary keys, foreign keys, constraints, defaults, transactions, error handling, BCP, BULK INSERT, indexing, stored procedures, user-defined functions, triggers, views, temporary tables, CTEs, and querying, creating, validating, and updating data.
• Adequate hands-on SQL experience to comprehend database logic, analyze data, and write queries necessary for validating complex data processes.
