Senior Substation Electrical Protection and Controls Engineer

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Offer project assistance within the Substation Protection and Control Engineering team

β€’ Engage in substation protection and control projects for electric utilities with voltage levels from 4kV to 345kV

β€’ Create one-line and three-line diagrams

β€’ Produce AC and DC schematics

β€’ Design SCADA/RTU systems

β€’ Develop panel layouts and wiring

β€’ Generate bills of material

β€’ Collaborate with Civil/Structural and Substation disciplines

β€’ Conduct quality control/assurance reviews

β€’ Assist projects from initial scoping through to final design and project closure

β€’ Provide construction support

β€’ Liaise with clients and other disciplines


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering

β€’ Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification is advantageous, with a desire to achieve Professional Engineering Licensure (PE)

β€’ At least Five (5) years of experience in the electric utility sector

β€’ Background in utility substation engineering with an emphasis on design packages

β€’ Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is desirable

β€’ Strong verbal and written communication skills

β€’ Direct involvement with substation protection and control projects for electric utilities

β€’ Capability to support projects with voltage ratings from 4kV to 345kV

β€’ Strong client orientation and customer service skills

β€’ Excellent communication abilities
