This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Uruguay.
β’ Develop and sustain embedded C/C++ software for microcontrollers, which encompasses bare-metal firmware, hardware drivers, and board support packages (BSPs).
β’ Convert system and functional requirements into control models and software designs.
β’ Collaborate effectively with systems, hardware, and application engineering teams.
β’ Design, simulate, and validate control logic using MATLAB and Simulink, which includes model-level unit testing.
β’ Implement and integrate the resulting functionalities in embedded C/C++.
β’ Create machine-control applications that interface with joysticks, keypads, sensors, and electrohydraulic systems.
β’ Develop control logic for hydrostatic pumps and hydraulic valves, including flow metering and coordination with machine operating states.
β’ Enhance power management, cooling, and hydraulic fan control functionalities.
β’ Debug and validate software throughout the embedded stack, from hardware interfaces and drivers to application behavior on the machine.
β’ Operate within an Agile development framework.
β’ Maintain requirements traceability, verification evidence, and software lifecycle documentation using tools such as Polarion.
β’ Participate in code reviews, version control, automated builds, and continuous integration utilizing GitHub, Jenkins, and GCC-based toolchains.
β’ Practical experience in developing embedded software in C/C++ for microcontrollers, particularly in bare-metal environments.
β’ Proven track record in translating system requirements into models, control logic, and embedded implementations.
β’ Strong understanding of control systems and hardware/software interfaces, with experience in integrating sensors, actuators, or operator inputs.
β’ Proficient in debugging embedded software and troubleshooting issues across firmware, electronics, and machine behavior.
β’ Solid foundation in software engineering practices, including unit testing, Git workflows, code reviews, and continuous integration.
β’ Capable of collaborating across disciplines and functioning effectively within an Agile engineering team.
β’ Willingness to travel to the US.
β’ Experience with MATLAB and Simulink for model-based control development, simulation, and verification is highly desirable.
β’ Background in heavy machinery, mobile equipment, or industrial machine-control systems is a significant advantage.
β’ Familiarity with electrohydraulics, hydrostatic drives, pump and valve control, power management, or cooling systems is a considerable plus.
β’ Experience that encompasses both low-level embedded development and application-level controls is a major advantage.
β’ Knowledge of Jenkins, GitHub, and GCC toolchains is a significant plus.
β’ Experience with engineering documentation and component datasheets, including through PLM tools such as Windchill, is a significant advantage.
