Senior Structural Designer 2 – Nuclear Power

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate under the supervision of the Structural Project Lead alongside multidisciplinary engineering and design project teams.

• Create layout drawings for structural steel design and reinforced concrete design within a 3-D model.

• Utilize Hexagon’s SmartPlant S3D modeling software and SPF database to produce structural design deliverables, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and commodity lists.

• Generate structural steel framing drawings, concrete wall and foundation drawings, and detailing that aligns with engineering specifications.

• Oversee the coordination of detailed design phases for all elements of an integrated structural design model.

• Identify and resolve clashes and discrepancies in the 3D model, providing status updates.

• Coordinate and direct designers and project team members to ensure comprehensive and timely design completion.

• Independently plan and execute structural deliverables.

• Mentor junior drafters and designers.

• Employ appropriate professional judgment and conduct reviews when utilizing technology-assisted tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• This position does not offer sponsorship for work authorization in the U.S.

• Proficient in SmartPlant S3D modeling, including S3D and SPF integration, clash detection resolution, component/parametric element setup, report/schedule/template creation, drawing presentation rules configuration, and plant model data management.

• A minimum of 10 years of detailed design experience in developing structural plant design drawings, structural steel design drawings, and reinforced concrete design drawings.

• Skilled in design software tools for creating 3D plant layout models.

• Experienced in reviewing structural layout drawings for steel frames, connections, concrete components, equipment and piping supports, foundations, and rebar detailing.

• Familiarity with reviewing vendor drawings and interface points.

• Capable of interfacing with engineering and design teams from other disciplines during the plant design process.

• Proficiency in MicroStation is preferred but not mandatory.

• Experience with Microsoft Office tools is preferred but not mandatory.
