Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Oversee and direct the functional responsibilities of Facilities and Local sourcing.

• Create and implement strategic sourcing strategies, priorities, initiatives, and governance across the entire system.

• Provide guidance to RHM, regional, service-area, and functional leaders on strategies and performance objectives.

• Drive standardization, system integration, optimization, process development, and policy formulation.

• Manage vendor and contract labor, focusing on strategy centralization and spend optimization.

• Lead intricate strategic sourcing initiatives and competitive sourcing efforts.

• Handle high-value contract negotiations and minimize high-risk project exposure.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout Trinity Health and Regional Health Ministries.

• Formulate and execute strategic commodity plans and category strategies.

• Maintain relationships with suppliers and group purchasing organizations, conduct business reviews, and track supplier performance.

• Ensure compliance with system contracts and enhance national, custom, and Trinity Health purchasing agreements.

• Analyze supply markets, spending, demand forecasts, risks, trends, and total cost of ownership.

• Gather, clean, validate, and analyze extensive datasets from various sources.

• Create and sustain dashboards, reports, and visualizations utilizing Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or other similar tools.

• Conduct ad-hoc analyses and deliver actionable recommendations.

• Lead RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes, including analysis, negotiations, and project execution.

• Formulate, implement, and communicate strategies to senior management and key stakeholders.

• Supervise assigned personnel and financial operations; establish team goals and priorities.

• Conduct performance evaluations, manage performance challenges, and facilitate colleague career development.

• Engage in lean/process excellence and quality enhancement initiatives.

• Review, redline, and draft contract language in conjunction with legal counsel.

• Ensure the adoption of strategic sourcing and contract lifecycle management systems.

• Collaborate with Finance to confirm projected savings.

• Guarantee effective transition and implementation of finalized contracts.

• Monitor supplier performance against established scorecards and resolve service-related issues.

• Develop thorough sourcing procedures and fulfill other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, supply chain management, a portfolio-specific clinical discipline, or a related field, along with seven (7+) years of progressively responsible experience in a multi-entity and multi-level organization, or a comparable combination of education and relevant work experience.

• Proven leadership experience.

• Extensive knowledge of strategic sourcing, contract portfolios, and complex financial analysis.

• Proficient in advanced data analytics and procurement practices, including intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar applications.

• Experience in vendor relationship management and market trend analysis.

• Capability to develop work plans and lead sourcing professionals.

• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing/Operations and technical problem-solving techniques.

• Project management experience from initiation to completion using detailed work plans.

• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, consulting, and communication skills.

• Ability to engage with physicians, executives, and all levels of the organization to influence and achieve results.

• Competence in addressing conflict and challenging conventional thinking.

• Strategic thinking and cost analysis skills, with an understanding of financial management principles.

• Skill in identifying issues and crafting viable solutions.

• Ability to construct and execute complex analyses, including Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Economic Value to Customer (EVC), and Net Present Value (NPV).

• Superior organizational, planning, and project management capabilities.

• Knowledge of contract law and governing regulations.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage priorities effectively.

• Capability to handle multiple and changing priorities.

• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, data visualization, statistical analysis, and proficiency in business intelligence.

• A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.

• Experience in the healthcare industry is preferred.
