This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Procure products within designated planner codes and commodity sectors efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Establish, nurture, and enhance supplier relationships.
• Identify and minimize long lead times by utilizing material strategies in collaboration with suppliers.
• Review daily MRP exception messages, monitor purchase order status, and analyze order action reports, taking necessary actions.
• Resolve discrepancies in material pricing.
• Discover alternative solutions for outdated components and collaborate with engineering for necessary approvals.
• Ensure the prompt delivery of products to meet production requirements.
• Keep purchasing data up-to-date in the computer system.
• Develop new, improved, or alternative supply sources to streamline the supplier base.
• Negotiate optimal prices and value with suppliers, considering technical requirements and market dynamics.
• Manage purchase agreements that involve confidential and proprietary data.
• Conduct material price and delivery quotations.
• Carry out quarterly business reviews with key suppliers as needed.
• Take part in production meetings to discuss supplier requirements.
• Assess and report on supplier performance metrics, including quality and timely delivery.
• Provide training and mentorship to new and junior buyers.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• At least 7 years of progressive relevant experience.
• Prior experience in an electronics manufacturing setting is essential.
• Intermediate knowledge of purchasing laws.
• Intermediate skills in MRP.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Ability to work with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong mathematical and computational abilities.
• Effective communication skills in all formats with internal and external stakeholders.
• Professional negotiation capabilities.
• Aptitude for solving problems with multiple variables and limited standardization.
• Ability to multitask efficiently and adjust within a rapidly evolving environment.
• Verification of export-controlled technology status may be required for access authorization under U.S. EAR or ITAR regulations.
